Wow this is so sad to hear. Tim was so good to me. He was my personal instructor at MIT and he told it like it was. An influence indeed. He told me once after a performance "I like what you did up there but at one point when you were starting to go off in the higher register you kind of backed off, I don't want to ever see that again if you're going to go for it go for it all the way"
That was Sir Tim Bogert in a nutshell! Man, he gave me some great tips and advice. Love you Tim R.I.P. Rock in Eternity!

Loved Vanilla Fudge... also the band...
sorry, bad joke.. but really I have always admired and liked his work in Vanilla Fudge plus with Jeff Beck... You have to have your shit together to play with Beck... I cant even imagine.. Just another piece of our childhood now missing... RIP.

My first concert was Vanilla Fudge - Nov ‘68 - Houston, TX. Phenomenal band and Bogert was an outstanding bass-player. May he Rest In Peace.

Vanilla Fudge played at my high school, Columbia High, in Maplewood, New Jersey in 1966, I believe it was. They were incredible. My friends and I were in our high school rock band but we had never heard a professional rock band play live. It was revelatory. Tim Bogert was an astonishing bassist. Rest in peace, Tim!!

Tim was my good friend of over 20 years. He was my inspiration to be the best bassist I can be ever since I first saw him live in 1967 with the Fudge. I first subbed for him in Vanilla Fudge due to an emergency in 2002. He called on me personally to sub for him im Cactus in 2008. It has been my amazing honor to follow in his footsteps since 2009 when he retired. Rock in Peace, brother. You’re still the best!

RIP Tim. I have memories of Beck, Bogert and Appice at Georgetown University’s McDonough gym. Great show and made the mistake of wriggling to the front of the stage, my ears rang for three days afterward!

Wow, this is a real sad video for me to see. Thanks for posting this. I saw Tim live with Vanilla Fudge in 1969. The opening act was none other than Led Zeppelin! They were on their first North American tour. I was a teenager and I paid $5 for the ticket. I managed to get right up front, 3 rows from the stage. It was a fantastic show in every way. Vanilla Fudge was a great band. I was learning to play electric bass, and watching and hearing Tim Bogert was a revelation. He was a huge inspiration on my musical career, and one of my all-time musical idols. RIP Tim from all you fans around the world.

Tim was a huge influence for me in the 70’s, particularly with the band Cactus. My old band worshipped the ground they stood on... “ Let Me Swim”, Parchman Farm” and “No Need To Worry, ” were a few which we regularly performed. Don’t know (as of yet) the cause of his passing. RIP Tim✝️

Saw Beck Bogert & Appice at Sheffield City Hall in 1973. Omg 48 years ago! As the T-shirt says "I may be old, but I've seen all the great bands"

One of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet I seen and met him many many times he was 100% always gracious with his time the guy smoked like a train so you never missed him for the chance to meet him he was taking a cigarette break just about every half hour at venues went I went too see vanilla fudge at westbury music fair in Long Island New York I had taken all of my cactus, BBA, vanilla fudge, and his solo LP’s and CD’s to the show with me in hopes of meeting him the first time I met him at close to 3 pm he was driven to the venue in a van so when he got out of the van I called him over and said mr bogert can you please sign a few of my items I told him you can pick the ones to autograph he said well what do you have I told him everything you ever played on so I pulled the stuff out of my bag and he smiled he said “wow you are not kidding” he said ok lay your stuff up here on the ledge of the wall and I will sign it and to my delight he signed every single item and here was the kicker as he signed all my stuff this is what he was saying as he signed everything “ thanks for the cars, thanks for the big houses, thanks for the boats, thanks for the motorcycles, and thanks for the lavish lifestyle I have lived “ we need more like him this gentleman was a class act he will surely and sadly be missed from this planet I even told him there should be more rock stars like yourself mr bogert RIP mr bogert you are now jamming up in the heavens with all the greats who was waiting on you ——- Anthony w. So sorry to hear this. I've been listening to Beck Bogert Appice for the last couple of weeks in my car just digging on Tim Bogert's riffing and timing genius. His basslines and great singing are always in my head. A close friend saw him years ago sitting in with a club band out in the LA area. He was amazed and said Tim was chatting it up with the crowd and doing 64th note warm ups. Thank you YouTube for my only chance to watch him play. R.I.P. Tim
