The thing I like about the treasure hunt challenges is that even if the treasure hunter is killed in the first encounter, you can just loot the map from his corpse. That happened to me in the playthrough of RDR1 I'm doing right now.

The maps for the locations of the treasures are seem to be quite cryptic. I couldn’t find the second treasure location but continued to play the game anyways, now I’m at the end of my game and still stuck at the 2nd task. And in order to get the costume called ‘Legend of the West’ I have to find all of the 8 remaining treasures. Just a pain in the butt. I wish we had a chance to have a pin at the map for the locations for those who wants to have that. I’m sorry that I’m not completing this nonsense..!

I found the first treasure before getting the map.
After the event where I gained the map, I can't progress in the challenge.
I didn't realise this until midgame when I started doing challenges.
Anyone else had this problem ?

I aid for the map and I made sure as much as I could that John did things in a Christ like way. although I don't like what John says in some of his lines. because God's NOT Dead
