Can you eat a 20 year old Hostess Twinkie? My high school science teacher told me Twinkies science have so many preservatives that they will never go bad. Let's find out if he was correct.

Remember when Hostess went out of business and everyone freaked out that Twinkies might no longer be sold? Good times...

So the moral of the story is, yes, I can eat the random, forgotten Twinkie that I just found in my pantry 👍🏻

You took one for the team. But someone had to do it, so hats off to you. That thing turned into a cookie.

Falling ice crystals are a typical part of the physical characteristics of dried food, as seen at 1:20 in this video. Thanks for demonstrating this amazing phenomenon, Mr. MyLameAnimations.

The reason there is no mold on 20 year old twinkie, is because even mold doesn't want it 😅

A middle school teacher i was student teacher for had the entire hostess family hanging from the ceiling of the classroom. They had been hanging there for 15 years. minus the loss of a few piping swirls they all looked good. hard as rocks but looked the same.

Wrap a wet towel around it and microwave it a few seconds.

At my job I bought a pack of twinkies and put them in a cabinet 14yrs ago as an experiment. I wouldn't try them, but they still look the same. After the first few years I noticed the oils from the twinkies condensating on the inside of the packaging, after that the oils must have evaporated through the porous plastic and now it's as hard as a crouton, like in this video. I'm sure if they could be revived if you moistened them with oils and emulsifiers.

I did a video over the course of a couple years - they really hadn't changed too much. 20 years, though? That's pretty epic. There's a guy who left one in a jar for 27 years and it was in rough shape - probably because he let it get exposed to light in a clear jar.
