Yes you can do this. There is a 2GB hard drive on board that allows up to 360 minutes of audio. Simply strike each pad at the appropriate start/end points, and the sample will be automatically truncated and assigned to that pad

I have a TD 15 KV that I gig with and wanted to expand. It was between a SPD 30 or SPD SX and I realized that it is totally the SPD SX you got to have sampling. going to pick one up in the AM . Hope to be able work it in to our music soon.

The Wave Manager software is for importing, assigning, and organizing samples, but not really a performance based software like Traktor or Ableton Live.

You could run Traktor as your performance software and connect the SPD-SX and your interface/controller to a mixer and essentially control both separately but simultaneously. I am not sure exactly how you could run the SPD-SX within Traktor but there is MIDI I/O so I would do some poking around the internet for ways to do that.

The technology is the same no matter what genre you are performing. The SPD-SX really works best when loading your own samples which may be better for a rock or R&B style performance.

There is no quantize feature. Only the effects can be linked to the click and not the samples.

Is there a way to organize all WAV files in alphabetical order? I've added a bunch of my own samples with prefix Snare_xx or HH_xx, etc and just want them mixed in with the factory sounds but can't figure out how to do it.

That was sick, is this the cheapest way to get a live 808 Bass drop?  I've been trying to find something to emulate Chris Adlers bass drop (specifically One Gun 2:52, 2:54 double hit, 2:57 2:59 double hit) its somewhat audible in the mix, but if you see them live, it will shake the shirt off of you, any suggestions for that would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Everyone

I am A  electronic  DJ/Producer  and  recently saw a show with a DJ and A drummer and i like it a lot. So i thought to add drum machine to my kit  as the SPD 30 and to study to use it,  so i can play with it over the tracks, i never play on any drums before, my question is, if the SPD SX can be use as drum machine as the SPD 30 ? and my other question is if is hard to use  if i never experience drums before ?

Can this thing be played using hands? Spent a little time with the spds and it didn't seem to respond well to hand drumming. Has this been improved on the spdsx? Haven't been able to find any info specific to hand drumming.

Thanks for the demo, I have a question...  It looks like with Multi-Sampling, after the sampling is complete and saved, when you hit one pad the previous sample stops playing instead of the samples overlapping.  Is that correct?
