This is easily the BEST classic comic Iron Man. He looks incredible!!! This is leaps and bounds better than the ML version IMO

5:43 The amazing thing about Mafex is every single figure (as far as I know) has all new parts. Thinking about characters like the Jim Lee Batman, Superman, and Cyclops...they could've easily reused arms, legs, torsos between those figures, but nope. I know they cost a good bit more with shipping, but I'm pretty sure a standard Mafex figure retails in Japan for $60. And here you have legends creeping up on that price. Gone are the days where it was unfair to compare the two.

I highly recommend that people order these figures from overseas, you'll save up to $40-$45. I got mine from amiami for $114 total. BBTS will run you $150 with s&h included. W/O inclusion of the cannon, this figure would have gone for $94 tops.

I think the eyes "SUIT" (pun definitely intended, lol) this figure. It goes with the classic look that it's based on.

The great thing about this figure is really minimizes any QC with the paint....you know, cause Mafex doesn't have the best track record with paint apps. And no concern about any gummy, marbleized, swirly twirly plastic like hasbro. This is how you make a man in a shinny metal suit!

My only nitpicks are that Mafex skimped on adding sculpted lines on the armored neck piece & should have come minus the proton cannon as that added to the cost and doesn't even go with this armor. Would love to see Mafex do a Classic War Machine with Rhodey and Silver Centurion as including this Bob Layton 70s- early 80s IM, those are my top 3 favorite IM armors. Other classic Avengers such as Vision, Hawkeye, Yellow jacket, Quicksilver, Black Knight, Hercules, 1st app Wonderman, US Agent, Scarlet witch, Warbird and Wasp!

The only thing I can think of that would've made this figure cooler is for the arc reactor to light up. Not sure if that would've make the torso feel a bit cheaper, but I think they could've pulled it off well. Oh, and there should've been a blast effect for the photon blaster.

I mean, just cause the higher price we're paying for that weapon is a little too much for what it is. Just wondering what effect piece I could buy that'd work with it 🤔. Either way, this figure so evokes my nostalgia of the Secret Wars version I had as a kid.
