Changing a Revit family host is a lot of work and often requires the recreation of the family with a different family template. Here's a quick workaround to use a wall-hosted family in a Mechanical project that has a linked Architectural model we'd like to host to.

Yes, you would simply right-click on the family in the Project Browser and save it as an RFA or select the Family, click on the Edit Family button and in the Family Editor you would then save the family to your library.  HTH

Thank you for this tutorial. Is there any way to save that family that is now Face based for future use without having to go through all of these steps?

Thank you!!
