Thanks John for another great episode, but it sounds like it has the possibility of being " The Historic Haunted Town of Marietta Ohio, Pt.1." Hopefully to be followed by Pt.2, you get the idea.👍

Good to see you again John!
Theaters are one of the most spirit inhabited places most anywhere. Wish I could check one out! Can't travel much anymore. 😔

Is there ever an old theater not haunted by the ghost of its projectionist?
The old P&A Theater in Northville, MI was haunted by the ghost of their projectionist who died mid-feature many years ago.
My friend Sue, who worked there, swore she had seen him. And she wasn’t given to flights of fancy.

Beheading by an elevator sounds 😧, but I'm glad you told the tale. ❤Love the opening title scene! Always a big fan.

I'm always fascinated by old underground routes. So many older cities have them too.

I live 30 miles west of Indianapolis. I think that visiting this charming historic town is definitely on the horizon with a stay at the Lafayette Hotel! Thanks!

I often go longboarding in Marietta and did not know about any of these stories. Cool to know. That town is awesome, tons of nice architecture.

I’m a historian from Ohio State and am currently reading David McCullough’s ‘ The Pioneers’ and had an uncle who lived in Marietta in the late 60’s until he moved to, of all places, Marietta, Ga in 72. Where he became the Editor in Chief of Georgia Wildlife magazine for 30+ years. (James R Wilson) If you haven’t read The Pioneers—I highly recommend it. The men who emigrated from (mainly) Massachusetts to the NW Territory, men like Putnam and St.Clair and other Revolutionary War veterans, put their lives on the line to build a “new country” in a land that was full of Shawnee, Delaware, Miami, Lenape, and other Native Americans who were none to keen to give-up their ancestral homes and hunting ground. Great video. 🫡 Semper Fi.

I live in Parkersburg just down the road on the other side of the bridge. Everything in these parts is haunted. And it really ticks me off that the house I bought, originally built just prior to the Civil War isn't haunted.

My grandpa grew up in Marietta from the 30s-40s. He grew up in a very poor area with POC. He told me many a haunted tale and tales of fishing when the river would flood to feed his whole neighborhood. His uncle was killed and thrown off the bridge to West Virginia. His dad would fight the Krishna. I’ve always wanted to visit.

I grew up near Marietta, and still live about an hour away. I have family that still lives there. My ancestors (Stacy's) helped to settle Marietta. My uncle lives at Point Lookout on Harmar Hill. I love walking around Marietta and visit the museums and antique stores.

In 2000 my parents moved us to Marietta for my dads job. We were only there for a few months, but we lived in the big blue Victorian on Morningside Dr.

The day we moved in, the movers came up from the basement and said “you have spirits in your house”. There were some weird happenings in those few months, like hearing footsteps in the attic, dead flies all over the attic (which I believe reflects some type of demonic activity), and my cat all of a sudden starting to pee everywhere when she didn’t do that before.

Thankfully we were only renting and were out shortly after, but it was not an experience I enjoyed. Cool town though.

Marietta is a beautiful town with so many gorgeous old houses. They use to have a riverboat (paddle wheel) boat lunch and dinner ride.

Thanks for sharing! I'll check out Marietta OH on Wikipedia. Here in Vermont, the foliage is changing color and the weather is getting cooler. I'm already in the Halloween spirit and ready for some spooky stories!

I swear one day, I will have my first haunted Ohio explore. I'm just really sorry you have to put up with the blight of having you-know-who as your Senator.
