I locked myself in my room for a day and did nothing by practice writing with my right hand. (I'm left-handed). I didn't make as much progress as I expected. But it shows just how much work it takes to improve on a skill like handwriting. If you're practicing something difficult and not making as much progress as you expected, stick with it. You'll improve if you keep coming back to it with some rest in between.

Lefty here. When I was in 10th grade I broke my left wrist in a baseball game, with two months of school left still. So I had no choice but to have to learn to write (and do a lot of other things) right handed. First week was absolute mental torture. But it progressively got easier after that first week. When i got my left hand out of the cast after 6 weeks, I could write almost as easily with my right hand as I could my left.

I had the same exact problem as you, the first letter or word i'd write I would mess it up, but then i'd be good to go after that.

Im a left handed graphic artist and just switched all writing from left to right hand. Its way way better. I still draw and paint fully with my left hand as always as there is no mechanical advantage there way there os with writing. Writing is a linear operation and pulling the pen is far more efficient and relaxing. I can only speak to cursive writing though which is just infinitely improved right handed, especially with fountain pens. After 5 days my cursive writing with my right hand is great and comfortable. Ive never used my right hand for writing or drawing and think its odd how easy this transition was.

For me its not useless since I got a bad condition of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. And since My job requires me to keep writing I have to learn

A guy at work told me that he didn't I was left-hand while I was writing and called me lefty. I've never heard anyone say that they didn't know that someone was right handed or call them righty to someone right handed.
