Pesto is Losing his Feathers! 😭

Pesto the penguin is growing up... and we don't know if we can handle it! This giant baby is growing up so fast! Born on January 30th, 2024, Pesto is now approaching 9 months old! At 8 months, Pesto was already a record breaker — weighing in at 50 lbs! For reference, adult penguins are usually 40 lbs max! During his first few weeks, he grew that cute brown down to keep warm. Now, he's hitting his first molt and getting his black and white adult plumage. As he grows, he'll start to show those signature yellow feathers, and by age 4, he'll be in his full King Penguin glory! Pesto is right on track. It's hard to believe he's not a little baby anymore... but he’s destined to be a King!
