it does work but it leaves a build info log at the bottom of the desktop screen. which is fine if you're barely at your desktop screen. otherwise, it's just another watermark but only for the desktop screen

Yeah. It worked ... for all of tre, four hours or so. This was my 7th or 8th try at a "nice and easy" way of removing it.

Doesnt work, after a while the watermark just comes back. and by a while i mean a couple hours no power cycle either.

this does not work on windows 10 the activate windows watermark will appear 3 or 4 hours after you turn on the pc again

paintdesktopversion defalut set to 0 just leave it, if turn on 4 if give windows 11 pro and serial number, set 0 if it will go away, my windows is different so he may had different effect

I thought it was going to be the slmgr -rilc and slmgr -rearm from command prompt. This way is better for permanently removing watermark. But using slmgr does actually activate your windows for 30 days and you can do it 3 times.

yes this and others only remove it for short time then it is back. I am going to reinstall windows keeping existing files, and see if that works.

As of today, I tried this and it does not work, MS probably patched it. Not sure if it actually did work, simply because if you have the watermark and you just restart your computer, it goes away for a few hours and then comes back. What happens when you edit the registry? You need to restart. It's just a placebo now. You're going to end up with only only the new watermark that tells you what version of windows you have, but the activation one will return as well.

I wouldn't have worried about removing it myself, but my key was invalid and I'm awaiting a replacement one, in the meantime I have to sit there and look at it, ugh.

I followed your instructions on this message removal but it came back the next day, so rather diapointed by this hack.
Do you have a better permanent fix? Windows 11 OS
