I can only imagine the difference it must make in the lives of young gay people being raised "then" versus "now." Even as recently as the circa 2010 Willard Missoui -- or, say, the South Georgia of a little earlier -- versus the opportunities for connection and self-expression that are arising. For very many people there are, still scattered, yes, but very real, improvements.

Any straight person with a lick of empathy, looking at this kind of communion, release, and joy, has to "get" the specialness of what Chappell's global ascendance represents for so many.

Im 14 and part of this queer youth pride and literally chappell roan is such free and made me realize its okay to bw who i am and just not care anymore. All her somgs impacted my life so much❤🏳️‍🌈
