The period of a wave is the time it takes for a full cycle of the wave to be completed.
The frequency is the number of complete waves passing a point every second.

The unit for period is seconds (s)
The unit for frequency hertz (Hz)

The equation that links period, and frequency is:

period = 1 ÷ frequency

Rearrange the equation for frequency:

frequency = 1 ÷ period
