It's a crime that George MacKay didn't get an Oscar nomination for his work in this. The physical demands alone should have earned him a medal. Everyone involved deserves thanks for this stunning and beautiful work of cinematic art.

I mean, there is only eight notes in an octave, but he is able to express with them so much: hopefulness, sadness, desperation, tenderness, grief... even happiness. That's not just a music. That's magic.

This was the last movie I saw before quarantine in theatres and it was like being there. You sink into it and forget it's actually a movie.

This movie really does give us a taste of WWI. I love this stuff.

This film is widely praised for its camera work but its more than just that, the portrayal of the war was to my knowledge a fantastic summary of what it was really like and I cant get over how much I love the idea of taking us people who are so far removed in time from these events and giving us a 3rd person experience of the war.

How this score didn’t win the Best Original Score Oscar this year is both baffling and a cinematic crime.

Never before have my ears ever been so soothed by such a unique blend of hope and poignance compiled into one single piece of music.
