2023 SCOTTSDALE THURSDAY BROADCAST - Thursday, January 26, 2023 - BARRETT-JACKSON 2023 AUCTION
Показать описание
Day after day, the 2023 Scottsdale Auction has continued to see record attendance, extraordinary sales, and dozens of new world record sales set. Thursday, January 26, was a shining example, with Lot 803, a 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge Ram Air III that sold for $275,000, making it the day’s top-selling vehicle, followed by Lot 788, a 1961 @lincoln Continental custom sedan that set a new auction world record with its $231,000 sale.
Over 40 new records were set by many of the top-selling vehicles of the day. Guests visiting Barrett-Jackson for the first time this year have experienced firsthand that this is truly more than a collector car auction; it really is the ultimate automotive lifestyle event.
The morning’s Collector Car Symposium in the South Showcase was a timely topic, focusing on trucks versus cars, with speakers Seth Burgett from Gateway Bronco, Dennis Collins from Collins Bros. Jeep, author Colin Comer, and Bogi Lateiner, a master mechanic and founder of All Girls Garage. There was no clear winner in the debate over which type of vehicle is more appealing to collectors, but all agreed that there are spectacular custom creations of both types to be had at Barrett-Jackson.
The sale of incredible trucks and amazing cars kept guests engaged in the conversation long after the symposium, with top sales coming from each vehicle class on the auction block. Notable sales from the day included Lot 789.1, a 1968 @ford Bronco custom SUV, for $220,000; Lot 768, a 1968 @Porsche 911, which was the first car to pass the $200,000 mark at this auction when it sold for $209,000; Lot 731.1, a 1974 @Dodge Challenger custom coupe, which set a new record with its $187,000 sale; Lot 803.2, a 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 which crossed the block for $181,500; Lot 806, a 1956 @Chevrolet Bel Air selling for $165,000; and Lot 733, a 1953 Chevrolet 3100 custom pickup also setting a new record with its $154,000 sale.
Other vehicles to set new auction world records were Lot 730, a 1990 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z convertible, for $102,300; Lot 782.1, a 1969 @MercedesBenz 280SL roadster, selling for $132,000; and Lot 778, a 1958 Lincoln Continental Mark III Convertible, crossing the block for $115,500.
