The Pen Allowance - Birmingham Pen Company Ink Samples & Notebooks

In this edition of The Pen Allowance, I show you my recent purchases from The Birmingham Pen Company! I ordered 3 ink samples ($1.49 each/5 ml) and 2 pocket size notebooks($4.99 each).

Pen friends (viewer's of this channel) have introduced me to Birmingham inks and I LOVE them! Over the past 2 years I've sampled about 14 of their inks and I find them to be super nice: saturated, great flow, very well behaved and interesting to boot!

I've purchased a few times from Nick. Never disappointed. Have many inks all great. I enjoy getting a package from Nick with a personal note, a pen paper clip & great stuff.

I was subscribed to the ink sample parcel last summer, I can’t order ink in the winter because it gets way to cold and I don’t want ink bottles exploding in the mail. 🥴 Nick is always so helpful and I really love the ink. I'm looking forward to restarting my ink subscription in the next month or so.

I've ordered from Birmingham Pens a couple of times. Like you said, sometimes it takes a while to ship but it's a small company with good quality and I know I'll order from them again. Love my Pop Art Purple.

Thanks Chris! It’s always neat to learn about a new pen resource 😊. Interesting Tarnished Nickel! It’s quite unique, and I suspect it may need a broader nib to bring it all of its colouring. Fun to look forward to your review.

Tarnished Nickel was one of the inks that got me started on them. I'm a member of their Pen Parcel and I really enjoy it. Those small glass vials were what the samples used to come in. My very first Pen Parcel came in those, then the next month they switched over to the plastic vials. The plastic vials are much easier to use/store. I've been adding inks to my Birmingham cart left and right, but I'm on a no spend right now so they'll have to sit there awhile longer. :( You're review of their Arbuckle Coffee Bean made me add it to my cart. :) I hope they aren't sold out of it when I'm off my buying ban! lol Take care!

was just checking the website and yes, wow - the ink samples seem cheap!! a lot of them are sold out currently - I will have to check it out again in a few weeks🤗

I'd call that burnished nickel Puce. I think I need the Gerbera for sure. My garden Gerberas are just finishing up for the summer. Always get that name mixed up with gerbils. Thanks for interesting review Chris.

Birmingham is one of my three favorite ink brands (I admit to Noodlers and Taccia addictions as well). I discovered them early in my ink odyssey and have never been disappointed. I look forward to your reviews of this line and will be interested to see what comes up in your comparisons. Thanks, Chris.

Thanks Chris . I love the look of the Tarnish Nickel colour, I've also seen a few of their inks on Chrisrap52 channel, jellyfish being one i really liked of the ones i can remember, my memory its not what it was. Lol My problem ordering from Birmingham pens would be the shipping but i will look at their rates because i love the look of their inks.

Birmingham included two extra bottles of ink: Jeff Goldblum Independence Grey and Billy Eckstein Blues For Sale! Both are dark dusty dusky subdued inks. But I like them!

Hi Chris, I took a look at Birmingham Pens website for the first time and I'm impressed! I love the 5 ml samples; the 2 and 3 ml samples from other sites isn't really enough for me. And there are so many pretty purple colors to choose from at Birmingham. Do you have a favorite? My ink wish list is growing, lol. Ginger

Ooo, the Boysenberry seems interesting! Did I see a bit of shimmer in the reflection? Actually I like all three, but the boysenberry looked interesting., wonder if the shimmer carries thru in the Nick Steward process.
