TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA

This is a short video about trigeminal neuralgia. Trigeminal neuralgia is a type of headache. It is considered a secondary pain because it is caused by a disease or injury to the cranial nerve V, or trigeminal nerve. There are evidence-based treatments to alleviate the symptoms.

It is not a headache, it does not throb. It stabs and shocks at random sometimes just a few minutes, sometimes for hours, days or months. Surgery doesn’t always work, many people have multiple surgeries. For whatever reason it is nerve inflammation in my case. I notice if I eat less and whole plant based foods, no meat wheat dairy or sugar, no fast or processed foods my pain is a lot less. Exercise definitely plays a role for me, I’m much better if I keep moving. It’s hard to move when your having this, but I push ahead.

I can guarantee you that there isn’t one person who has this who at any point and time thinks this is a headache or a toothache! Omgoodness how incorrect and insensitive to us who suffer this horrific pain! This is the worst pain known to humanity. Don’t minimize it.

I've had TN since I was 13 years old. I am now 49. MVD done twice (2008, 2010) with second one giving me 13 years of relief. The pain is back. It's scary to think that theses electric shocks can escalate to the needle throbing pain felt behind my right eye. I would give anything for a permanent relief to the so called suicide disease. I sent for an appointment with two surgery centers awaiting who calls me back first. It's not only the pain it is living in fear of pain at anytime, including while I sleep. It makes me wake up at random hours avoiding resting well and tiring me to tolerate more pain. Medications are useless and deprived me of having children destroying my sperm count (Tegretol).

I really have it it doesnt hurt that much anymore it hurts when i dont eat and dont sleep and if i get to tired or i watch my phone to much

I have trigeminal problem since 2013 after eye decompression. Try everything except surgery. Are you suggesting something?

What about if I've got this pain also trigeminal neuralgia also same pains in my ribs, groin area and legs? Like burning skin? I can't touch it without feeling pain :(

Hi... i am a flipino senior citizen.. here in Philippines the doctor diagnosed me trigemenal neuralgia.. symtoms is twitching my right face.. the more my right face twitching cause pain of my ear ang head..
but the more i watch about trigemenal neuralgia i dont experience those.. only twitching my right face and my eye..
