Proper locks just don't exist either. If they can bolt cut it, they will. If they can't, they'll pull up with an angle grinder. Literally nothing you can do. I honestly think Marques' 149 buckets defence barrier would've been more effective than any form of padlock.

99 percent sure the people who broke in are the same group that burned the house down. They view it as their "stomping grounds" and are probably not happy you are around now

Dogs are good, we had some on a junkyard and people would never get far, usually you'd hear the screams before they get anywhere on the property. Get a few cellular night vision night cams and hide them in the trees or bushes, they'll never see them. Hidden cams are good too. They'll notify you when there's movement. Good for scheduled monitoring. Makes it hard for them to get off the land if they're detected.

Only thing I can recommend, and sorry I don't remember what they're called, is these large metal plates that go over padlocks so you can only unlock them from underneath and can't get bolt cutters to. Farmers should know what I'm talking about, my grandad had some down on his farm sheds. I know it isn't perfect, because they can go through boards or whatever but always worth a try. I'm very sorry this happened to you and Tom, it's a shame the world is the way it is.

Definitely extra panel or half on each end. The gap on the render from the panel to the desk shelves is smaller than in your actual room, thats why you're questioning it. I think a half width on each end will do the job
