this is a true Story., Yes, a woman named Joya Williams, a former Coca-Cola employee, was arrested and sentenced to eight years in prison for attempting to sell the company's trade secrets, including elements of the Coca-Cola formula, to PepsiCo, which was ultimately uncovered by an undercover operation; this case did not take place in Spain, but in the United States.

The funniest thing is, they told Coca-Cola about this and they said make a joke about it they didn’t even glare at the recipe because it was in a briefcase, and it was never opened They rightfully gave it back to the owners.

Pepsi may be their competitor but they will not steal the secret formula.
1) where the fun in that?
2) how were they going to market the formula? Seeing as everyone already knew the taste of Coke.
3) the formula is trade marked. Not the actual formula but enough of it that no one else can make it. The portions to make certain size batches is the formula and, it’s not like Pepsi could profit from it.
4) Pepsi already knows the formula. All they have to do is buy a can/bottle and test it like they did for the new product.
5) Pepsi and Coke are the 2 biggest soda makers. They enjoy the rivalry. If one wins over the other, they did it fairly. There are rules to this game that they are sticking to and that is what makes them the top 2 soda manufacturers.

I actually am pretty sure if you approached actual pepsi employees about selling Cokes formula to them, they would hang up immediately since they know it's a lawsuit large enough to bankrupt them.

its actually good for companies to have some nemesis like pepsi and cola, they are "forced" (not so much, but kindna) to make new ideas and thry can actually work together some ways, who knows if some ads werent agreed to make a drama about "Pepsi VS Cola"

I like that Pepsi and Coca-Cola still have a rivalry but at the same time have mutual respect for each other's business practices

Fact: Pepsi already knows the receipt and has done for years, that's why Pepsi tastes far better.

Any chemist could tell you the exact recipe...it's funny that so many adults who graduated high school and presumably took chemistry don't know that.

As a single dude, with no kids or family aka responsibility, who is in the 100k plus income club, there is no way i would throw that away, for a little 15k lol, like people have no common sense. If coke was paying her that kind of money see most likely worked there for a long time, so shes just stupid, most people dont see 100k a year let alone more then 100k.

Coca-Cola has only two non physical copies of the original recipe, and they are remembered by two people with perfect memories.
