Gas tamponade is required to support the retina in the post-operative period. The gas does not allow the light to focus on the retina and thus the visibility is blurred, till the gas is automatically absorbed from the eye.⚠⚠

The patients should not worry and wait for the gas to resolve. The gas usually resolves within 2-3 weeks (SF6) or 4-6 weeks (C3F8). Once the gas is absorbed, the vision is restored.🔆🔅
