I've always been so conflicted when it comes to youtuber predator catcher vilgilantes because on one hand, the police can't catch everybody so these channels are at least good at exposing their faces to the public, but on the other hand, the ways a lot of them go about it can be dangerous since it could ruin a sold case and let the predator escape punishment :(

While I absolutely understand the rage at pedos, the law can be stupid and full of loopholes. If you're going to be doing vigilante work, be smart about it and don't let your emotions overwhelm you.

Honestly, the thing that worries me the most is that a lot of these "vigilantes" assaults those who they themselves think are predators without any real proof... which means they could be very well assaulting innocents too.

Vigilantism being filmed and put online as "entertainment content" is such an awful fucking idea, yet at the same time somehow so predictable in a culture which has completely lost itself. Tell me, what happens when the producers have a grudge against someone but not a very solid case? Do you think they'll do more diligent research, let him go if they think he's innocent, or will they beat the shit out of him anyway and film it to their bloodthirsty fans while framing it as another predator facing "justice"? Do you think their process is honestly foolproof enough that they will *never* get the wrong guy, or beat the shit out of someone over a genuine misunderstanding? And this is in addition to the problems pointed out in the video of tainting the legal case.

If a father catches someone molesting his daughter and beats that man to death with his bare hands- I see no problem with that. But when everyday people with no training take it upon themselves to look for predators, they are going to start seeing predators everywhere like a hammer looks for nails. Doubly so when they're trying to make an entertainment career out of it. I do not trust these people, and you shouldn't either.

I get we all got these grudges against predators but we gotta do the right basis so the cases can get validity by a justice system and they are put away, these groups are tarnishing serious cases

The biggest problem I have with these sorts of guys (and really more with their fans) is that people don't know the difference between a predator, a pedo, and an offender. They assume all of them are the same child rapists. But you can get a sex offender label for pissing in public. An 18 year old having sex with his 17 year old girlfriend is statutory rape.

Not to excuse the bad behavior but so many people I talk to just want them all executed no trial, yet don't even care to understand the nuance. Whitenighting vibes

Finally a big channel says this so that people will listen. I've been seeing videos of these types of guys on tiktok (not sure if they were the same people) and people supporting it and commenting things like "yeah let's gooo they deserve it" like yeah... But it's really unprofessional and will just cause problems for the "vigilantes" and the victims in the end like mutahar said. First time I've agreed with him a lot since I really hate his clickbait fear-mongering video titling style.

Entrapment 101 🙄. If you have evidence of someone committing a crime, submit it to the authorities first. If nothing is done after years then I think it’s fine to speak on it publicly. But assaulting people is not professional at all.

Edit: unless the creep laid hands on your child or you walked in on them doing that, then by all means throw hands
