My Dropbox Replacement | Self Hosted Nextcloud

Today we're running through the set up of Nextcloud.
It's an open source piece of software which offers a self hosted solution which we are diving into.
It offers a range of different features.
In this video I specifically look at 'NextCloud Files' to sync files across all of my devices - with the aims of making this a replacement for Dropbox.

nice! i wasn't sure if you could access these files when not on local network. would be nice to have music player with all my ripped cds on a server at my home! i use an old asus t100 atom netbook as a local server at the moment. like it as just runs on micro usb so low powered.

It is not comparable to commercial cloud services. There are many things missing here, such as network redundancy, storage and power.
