An eye allergy is an immune response that occurs when the eye comes in contact with an irritating substance, known as allergy.
• The function of the immune system is to defend the body against harmful invaders, such as bacteria and viruses.
• In an eye allergy, the immune system mistakes an allergy for a dangerous substance, causing the immune system to overreact and produce antibodies called immunoglobulin (IgE)
• These antibodies travel to the cells in the eye, and in turn, causes it to release histamines and other chemicals in an effort to protect the eyes.
• It is this chemical reaction that causes the symptoms associated with the condition.
• An eye allergy may happen at any time of the year. However, it is common in the spring, summer, and fall months when vegetations such as trees, grasses, and plants are in bloom.
CAUSES
An eye allergy is caused by allergens in the air both indoors and outdoors including:
• Smoke
• Pet Dander
• Dust
• Mold
• Pollen from grass, ragweed, and trees

SYMPTOMS
• Itchy or burning eyes
• Red eyes
• Watery eyes
• Swollen eyelids, especially in the morning
• Sensitivity to light
• Blurry vision
• Tearing
In some cases, eye allergies may be accompanied by nasal allergies. In such cases, other symptoms may include:
• Sneezing
• Itchy nose

I'm in socal right now where we are getting hit with Santa Ana Winds. Between that and the insane rainfall we got over the past month which has lead to quite the bloom, has made the perfect combo for eye allergies to be kicking my eyeballs at the moment. worse I've every experienced

I used to have these bad as a kid. Had a horrible attack one day laying in grass when I was like 12, and ever since then I only have them every other year and it’s very mild

This is exactly matching my condition and it just got worse after I punched myself in the face cause I counted focus on study which caused inside wounds in my mouth which is somehow feels like connected to the swollen nose and eye of mine so the right side of my face is just really annoying and I feel like I just want to cuuut it ooff

Can an eye allergy have pain itchiness, , tingling, stinging or burning, and feel like their is air coming when blowing ones nose kinda like an eye fart? I have concerns abt at least one of my eyes and I’m not sure my eye drops would do anything and am worried they’d worsen things not make them better or worry they’d make them feel worse.

I am diagnosed conjunctivita and given antibiotics drop and anti inflammatory drp, it's not cured still, but still recurrent, no itchy just redish sometime
In house and some time gone outside, need to consult allergies doctor

I suffer from fatigue dry burning puffy eyes and chronic nasel congestion c can't get any relief blood test came back fine 🤷‍♂️
