Finishing my first year Dr. Parker! Med school is an experience unlike any other. It will take all of you and then some.

Objectively, I'd pace it 3-4x faster than undergrad.

I can definitely relate to this video. I currently am a first year medical student at a Caribbean Medical School and I actually had to drop a course during my first semester. The main reason that this happened is because I was literally studying 12 hours a day sometimes up to 14 hours a day and I was getting burnt out. Basically I had to completely change up my study habits as there was no way I was going to be able to sustain those kind of hours for the long haul. Studying in Med School is completely different than studying in undergrad. I could take my time while studying in undergrad even while taking 15 credits, but med school is basically double that around 30 credits per semester so I had to learn to adapt. My advice just as Dr. Parker said is to make sure you you know what you are getting into before you jump right into med school. And as you mentioned it is much easier to go from studying 8 hours a day to 10 hours or 12 hours a day as opposed to going from not studying at all to 12 hours a day. Thanks again for sharing and keep the videos coming Dr. Parker! 👍

Good advice for me. I start this fall. I’ve been a lazy bum and can confirm I could not go back to working so much overnight.

just got my final results, i've passed. Was tough, but never could give advice as it depends so much on so much. If you want it bad enough, you'll get through I guess?

If you haven't already, I was wondering if you can go in depth about paying for med school before, during, and after with any suggestions you have. A specific question for me would be, can I take out a loan for cost of living so that I can focus on my studies? The last thing I want to do is be stuck on a certain topic, need the extra study time, but instead I have to work... Thank you!!!

Dr. Buck, at one point you were selling a course on how to study. Please post the link again. Thank you!

It's easier to earn money for a fancy, fashionable car as a pharmaceutical sales rep than as a doctor.
