I prefer brownies without icing, but I have to have warm brownies with ice cream! The contrast between warm and cold is so satisfying to me. A coffee icing does sound like a delicious way to balance the flavors and sweetness, so I’ll definitely be giving that a try!

I generally prefer brownies without frosting. That being said, I think most of the brownie frosting I’ve had has been too sweet. Espresso sounds really good, especially if it’s not too thick.

That's actually pretty close to a dessert from Sweden called Kärleksmums. It's basically a chocolate cake square with chocolate/espresso icing and shredded coconut on top 😊

Theres a finnish dessert called mokkapala thats almost like this. Its more like a moisty chocolate cake base with a liquid like frosting on top (made with powdered sugar, cocoa powder, butter, and coffee) and then it hardens on top. The liquidness of the frosting kinda absorbs into the cake so it gets moist and sweet and the frosting isnt too thick either.

I think it depends on how sweet the frosting is, most frsoted brownies I've tried wasn't my favorite because of the sugary icing 😅 But espresso frosting sounds really delicious, maybe I'll try it one day
