I like how the NPC in the game that's based on Michael was made to look like a player. With the gun on his back and a shield on his belt. Even giving you free weapons he finds, implying that he's a player, still playing the game, finding loot, and giving the extras to other players. I may be thinking too much into it, but I thought it was nice.

"The first soldier down, we lost one of our own..." From the first time I watched this video years ago and even today that line gives me chills.

Mamaril in Tagalog/Filipino means "To Shoot with a gun". Guess this guy really deserves the title "BADASS" forever. In our heart.

michael isnt gone, he's just out there looking for a certain near-impossible-to-get legendary weapon.

"Though he may be gone, he will live forever in the Borderlands." Best. Sentence. Ever.

I've...seen this before, and I've heard this before. Eleven years later, it still brings a tear to my eye. Godspeed, Michael.

Just saw Michael for the first time in 2 years of having the game. It kind of broke me down knowing that a fellow gamer's soul was giving me a weapon in a game made after he had passed on. R.I.P. Michael. May you find peace in the Borderlands

Whoever disliked this... Why? What part of this has even the slightest reason to dislike it...

I heard about him by accident after putting in almost 100 hours in the game, and went looking. 330 hours into B2, I gave up. Then, I walked into a room, and there he was. I hadn't heard this yet, and out of nowhere, it made me cry.

I’m sorry but the change from the claptrap voice to his voice actors normal voice gave me whiplash. I didn’t expect that at all.

Dear Pyscos, Sirens, Commandos, Gunzerkers, Assassins, and Mechcromancers, lend me your ears. Let us all celebrate the fact Michael is now in a better place. As much as we miss/mourn him, we must also make sure that we don't let it drag us down. So lets all raise our orange weapons, in his name.

Despite the large amount of rage, trolling, and downright cruelness the gaming community can have for one another (especially depending on which video on Youtube you decide to comment on), I've noticed that whenever one of our fellow cadets in this great war of gaming falls, we put aside our differences and learn to enjoy our games in peace and happiness, even if only for a moment. I look through the comments on this video, and i think to myself, "What if was it was always like this? What if by some miracle, we gamers learned that our differences only make us more unique, that it doesn't matter if this person likes a certain game more than another, or that that person hates a certain genre of game." The day we learn to treat our fellow gamer guys and gals with respect and FRIENDLY banter, would be an amazing day indeed. But this is probably just the crazy wishful thinking of a teenager who probably needs to go outside more. Still....

Rest in Peace, Michael, you're in a better place now, probably fighting the big Terramorphous in the sky. Thanks for the loot, and know that you will never be forgotten.

Also, to everyone talking about the Yoteslaya controversy in the comments, we don't know who was drunk that night, who was driving the car, it doesn't matter. Yoteslaya touched the hearts of many viewers, and i believe he deserves some form of mention for the amount of fans he brought over to the Borderlands community. Maybe not as big of one as Michael, but still. Do you really want him to be remembered for how he died, or how he lived?

I really hope Gearbox continues to use Michael in future games, it's a nice touch. R.I.P Michael. (It's also my middle name)

I know this is late, but Michael, even though you are gone, while I play Borderlands 2, I'll think of you, I didn't know you but as a fellow gamer and Borderlands fan, I feel it's my duty to pay respect to my fallen comrades, may you forever find peace in the afterlife.
