I bought a Stomp yesterday - it's my first Helix product. I really don't get on with digital effects but desperate to find a convenient way of just getting on with a simple recording without messing about with reals amps etc. I have never come across a digital effect simulation so close to the real thing in terms of feel and responsiveness. I have posted this comment in case you are one of those people like me who have experienced nothing but disappointment with digital effects simulators and modelling etc. It's no wonder people are using these Helix units as whole rigs. I will be using mine for direct recording. Good luck on your quest for tone !

I'm 50..very old... and there's just no way. The kemper is quite easy but this is like a riddle inside of a maze. Glad I saw this video though before buying it.

I'm so lost! I picked up a Stomp. Got home and immediately did the updates.

Yeah now I have no idea where my factory are located. I'm on 01A and keep trying the different scrolling around the presets.

Please give some consideration to the power supply for use in the UK. My HX Effects UK power supply went down after 3 weeks ON STAGE. The whole thing is FAR TOO FRAGILE + that is why I have to buy a new PSU in order to sell it ! If the L6 Stomp PSU is the same - it is pointless me buying it !!

Thanks. BUT it was very hard finding this. I had bought the XL but was discourage trying to use it. Got it down from the closet and AGAIN looked for basic info. Not sure how I found this. Also do not know HOW to find the next. Am hoping to actually start using this product and not again put it in the top of my closet. Appreciate any basic help. Non basic, ie one topic help, is very confusing and for me NOT useful.

How do you set this thing up so that DIR presets can be assigned to a particular button? I have the Stomp XL and that's what I want to do, and no one seems to explain how it's done. Thank you.

Guys a technical question - if my tube amp only has 1 dirty channel and an fx loop, can I use the stomp version with a 4 cable method to route the signal with a clean amp modeller through the fx loop and when using dirty, bypassing any amp blocks on the stomp and going from the front of the amp with just modulation fx in the loop?

I just want to use it to record into my DAW, to replaced my ageing DOSS DR-880 which has a great guitar processor on board. How do I set it up to do that?
