In this video, I show you how I set up the HX Stomp as a dual-channel DI box for live shows and in the studio. I also demonstrate parallel chains and compression using a clean path and amp signal path.

Super useful tutorial that explains the why behind clean and dirty sounds and the flexibility of having both signals available.

Great video, very helpful. Will be checking more of your Stomp vids out. I like the fact you program on the Stomp.

2 ideas though. Zoom in closer to the Stomp & keep the shot on the Stomp longer

Cool video. Thx.
I run the stomp with 4 cable method an put my tube driven preamp from my orange terror bass into the signal chain. I do left out to FOH with a tube DI Box and the right goes to the Amp without a IR cab.
So I can mix my tube Preamp into the SD sound.
Before I run a 15' inch opera active box. But I miss the dirt touch.
Withe orange it runs great.

Very helpful video here! I never considered using the Mic Preamp before. I'm using it now with a compression setting but without a bass amp/cab setting. Love it! I used to run an xlr conversion cable from my Stomp but a few rooms I play had grounding issues so I use a Radial ProDI I channel to ensure I have a ground lift when needed. I use a powered QSC monitor for live rig when in-ears isn't an option.

Great video! I'm the opposite - as a computer guy, I'm much more comfy with the HX Edit software, but I really do need to learn how to do this stuff from the pedal - there are a few things you can ONLY do on the pedal.

Hi Tyler. Great video as usual so thank you. I'm new to using the stomp for bass and want to use the jack outs (one for DI and the other to my back line. You mention using as XLR to jack but the jack looked like it was stereo? Also which input should I use for this L or R or doesn't it matter? Thanks again.

I think this is more a split output channel than a dual channel. Good video. Thx

Great video! I’m a guitar player (not bass) with Hx stomp, a Strymon Iridium in the fx loop mono and a Stagesource L2T as my on stage “amp/monitor”. I have a couple of questions I’m hoping you can answer:

1. Is the separate clean channel approach applicable for electric guitar with my setup?

2. Should I use TRS or TS 1/4 output left to L2T and right to FOH.

3. What mix/routing settings should I apply to the HX stomp signal chain with my setup?

Thank you!!

Hi! Super simple and clear explanation. My doubt is, all this is it possible to assign it to one stomp button? I still can setup something similar with the other too? For example a guitar or another amp/cab with the same routing/chain?

I used a pre amp modeller signal to a real amp And then a processed signal to FOH. O used the main out and send... So I wonder if I should use left and right outputs instead

Hey thanks for the vid very helpful. Quick question, is it possible to take a DI signal to FOH that would have any EFX blocks as well as an Amp and Cab sim while sending just the EFX blocks signal minus the Amp/Cab sims to an amp? Thanks!

Hey Tyler! I think I asked you that question...amongst others for sure :) I am not of a software guy either. I was afraid you could not control everything from the pedal itself so that's cool. And the two outputs DI as well. Truth is that this thing is amazing for the price. But at the same time I feel like studio grade bass DI/preamps like reddi, noble or Neve has to sound better somehow because otherwise, why are they so expensive? Or is the game gonna change completely in the near future and we will see these stomps in the top studios?? I don't know...I would pay for comparing them together with a pro sound engineer...

Thank you for this video!!! If I, for whatever reason, could only connect one XLR out at a venue, would I just not choose to pan Left or Right for A and B on the Mixer screen??

Are the left and right signals fully in phase

Amazing video, thank you! Question: In a live scenario, are you using an on-stage amp? Or just in-ears or wedges? If you are using an on-stage amp, doesn't that double up on pre-amps and perhaps cabinets as well? Thank you again!

Hi Tyler, question, is there a way to send the DI signal from the HX Stomp to FOH and also send that same signal to the bass amp on stage?
I just bought the HX Stomp and I'm trying to figure out how to add it to my board. I have an Aguilar Tone Hammer DI/Preamp that I always have at the end of my signal. From the Tone Hammer I send the signal to the FOH using the XRL out and also to my bass amp on stage using the 1/4" out. Basically, I want to do the same thing but with the HX Stomp.
Thanks!

Awesome, thank you for this, quick question, what is the best way to record this via another interface? literall do the DI on one side, processed on other like in this video and take both outputs direct in to the main interface? (you mentioned for gigs) but thinking of recording. I already have other virtual amps in software but want to use the hx stomp so my rig for writing/gigging and recording is the same.
thanks again.

Tyler, thank you so much. I believe you answered my biggest concern. No Computer required to use all the features on the HS stomp?

Is this patch available from you? Very nice explanations, just looking for shortcuts ;).
