From 10:48 - 13:00 little over 2 minutes of some of the most hauntingly beautiful and hypnotic sounds I've ever heard. Maybe that's the edible talking, but...I doubt it! Great playing as always Johnnathan!

I have a Helix rack (2 weeks ) I also have a FM3 (fractal user for 10 years)

Initial thoughts helix’s is better for

Helix interface and usability I
Midi integration
Overdrive pedals sound better

Fm3

Better amp modelling
Far more amps and effects
Substantially better effects
Loads more IRS

Overall - you can get close to FM3 on helix but the amps takes a lot of tweaking EQs and 3rd party IRS help
Feel on Helix seems a bit odd

Is the price difference for stomp and FM3 justified ?

Nope ! You can get 95% of FM for 3rd of price

Always depends on budget and what your trying to achieve

Cool! I use and really like both but def prefer the sounds out of the FM3. Put a reverb block in the signal chain and the difference is actually pretty stark IME.

And I surprised myself by being able to tell and prefer which is the FM3 in your comparison videos too, I have the comments to prove it! :P So your videos have had the opposite effect on me than what you intended actually heh.

The HX sounds more squashed which is maybe another way of saying more compressed, more mids, and less transients. The Fractal FM3 seems to display less of all those characteristics (more transients, less compressed, wider frequency spectrum, less "soft sounding"). Effects sound more "expensive" on the FM3. I think FM3 sounds better, but not double-the-price-better.

Had the HX Stomp, wasn't too happy with it. I'm owning an FM3, even bought an FC6 recently... Yeah, loads of tweaking and I got some nice sounds out of it. A couple of days ago, I was curious, installed the trial of Helix Native.... and created a couple of patches I instantly connected with and that were inspiring me. Also noticed that the Twin model on Helix has more of that sweet top end when you dial back your guitar's volume than the FM3's Twin models... and now I'm at the point, where I consider trying the Helix Floor and maybe selling the FM3/FC6. It's driving me crazy!

in this last piece HX Stomp sounds so much better imo, i’m surprised that FM3 is so dull sounding, it’s not sitting in the mix it’s drowning in the mix.
