They easily survived the destruction of Carthage. They were all over the place, however, they didn't want to be persecuted for their religious beliefs of child sacrifice. Remember, Hasdrubal's Wife sacrificed her sons and herself, right on the wall of the city, in front of the Romans at the fall of Carthage. So, that was a sacrifice of children, because they did do that sort of thing. However, they did it to family members, children that were born into the family. I suspect they had members that were breeders of the children in the family. The woman Vikki Polin was on Oprah, who claimed her family committed child sacrifice, and they did it to children born in the family, that they kept track of family members in the cult, and which ones weren't. They had a book from the 17th century showing the family patterns of who was involved. She said they never called the entity they sacrificed to Satan. Only that the entity required it so they could maintain their wealth and power. It was learned that these people cannot harm anyone unless they reach out to them first. Which explains why they got involved in trade and banking. Take Carthage, They hired mercenaries to fight for them, than actually fighting much themselves. When conquered by Rome, they were disarmed, and given 50 years to pay off their war dept to Rome. They paid it off in 3. I believe they survived by moving through populations disguised as various religious groups to maintain their privacy. I think they created groups to manipulate the outsiders like the Freemasons, and such. Who always try to have as many police chiefs, sheriffs, and judges as they can. While not looking like a religious group takeover. It is all being exposed.
