Great job Mike. Reading through the comments and seeing you stand by your statements and passion for changing the industry is inspiring. I am just starting out, but what you explained has always been a goal of mine for any business that I start/run, but especially my lawn care business. You are an inspiration and a virtual mentor to me and you have done so much for this industry. Keep on keepin' on. You've got this! Would love to meet you some day and pick your brain haha.

So nice of you to tell all your loyal followers how you plan to crush their little businesses that they are pouring their heart and soul into. I hope everyone is paying attention and reading between the lines. In one video you tell everybody to raise their prices and now you reveal that with your “massive infrastructure” you plan to someday hit a price point with which they can’t compete in essentially wipe them out.

Hey Mike, I just wanted to say thank you but also leave this comment here to maybe look back on it in the future. I believe it takes a very special set of ideologies, personal philosophies, and a strong mental fortitude to get to the mental space where you can dedicate your life to a passion. I can see you’re extremely passionate about this cause and over the years of watching you, you’ve influenced my ideologies and I too have developed this same passion. I’ve spent years constantly researching the issues with this industry and how to take advantage of not only the fragmentation of this market but also it’s high disruption threat. Industries don’t change on their own, they require many very intelligent, knowledgeable, and strong minded individuals to cause such change. I believe you are one of these individuals and I can’t say thank you enough for providing the opportunity to become one of these individuals as well. I look forward to one day being one of your biggest competitors because great competition is a huge catalyst for great innovation. Thanks again Mike and take care.

I appreciate you educating people. But, there are exponentially cheaper and faster ways. I destroyed much older, experienced and talented visual artists just by using science and math.

1. neurology: I programmed my brain to operate like a talented visual artist.
2. I used formulas and parameters to exponentially bring the price down by 97%.
3. Physics: I researched the atomic level of quality videos.
4. Pricing: The average price was $1500 for a music video, 1 week editing. I charged $40.00, 30 minute shoot time, 1-3 days editing. It took me only a year and I eventually conquered 3 counties and expanded into Vegas. Was a really fun experience before I took my leave at the top of my career.

Anyone can answer this. When you first started your business did you have your friends and some family say that you will never make it. I have goals and dreams that will be achieved but will take time. But NO one seems to understand greatness takes hard work, time, and grind

In terms of stage 5, my hunch is there is still a limit to how much Amazon can raise their prices. They are less constrained because many competitors have gone out of business, yes, so they don't have to contend with the previous B/E points of those businesses. However, they still have to contend with the potential B/E points of new companies that become more tenable as prices rise. Especially if you consider the fact that human capital was released onto the open market when the small fry ecommerce companies closed up.

That, and there is a certain amount of vitriol that people have towards Amazon that can be capitalized on. In order to "compete" with Amazon, you have to realize you are not serving exactly the same market as Amazon. The main challenge is finding that alternative, niche market that Amazon by definition can not serve by nature of being Amazon. Why do you think "Buy Local" is a thing? May people enjoy the thought that they aren't doing business with Amazon and Walmart, and will pay extra for that privilege, regardless of the objective value of the product.

I've also heard some good logical arguments on why "predatory pricing" doesn't actually work. Technically, that is not exactly what Mike is describing here, as predatory pricing is lowering prices below Your Own B/E point, not that of your competitors, and Amazon would have a lower B/E. Amazon has probably always charged above their own variable costs of procuring and delivering products, at the very least, even if they were losing money due to investment.

Anyways, we'll see how things shape out.

Lower prices? Hell to the naw. I’m surprised you’d even suggest that.

And…there will always be a successor. Will be interesting to watch the downfall of Amazon and the rise of something new we didn’t even know we wanted 😝

Sounds like your business model is to low-ball your competition out of the market, and advising others to do the same.
I think the comparison of Amazon to a lawn care company is a poor one.
We have a big company in the city here running this undercut business model. Tons of trucks, ads competing on price, but very little chance of crushing the rest of us small business owners because they do shit work as you'd expect.
I use them as leverage "yeah I cost more, but would you rather hire _them_ instead?"
