Join my discord!

They have fixed the broken stackables problem, and you can now have a specific "Items" filter! The Items category filter is currently named "#BP_deployables", but will hopefully be changed to "Items" in a future update.

Industrial is one of my favorite things in Rust. I am the builder and electrician for our group; I had fun figuring this out the first couple of weeks after update.
The people i try to tell about the loot-sorting system say its not worth it but i think thats because they have never used it. My teammates ask for it on 2nd day of wipe now lol

You don't need to connect the drop boxes with connectors. Instead, just run pipe from box to box directly along the line. The final box's output then goes to the conveyor.

Wow you answered every problem I had with my sorting system. I was wondering why it wasnt sorting in ladders for some reason

Just found your channel, and I have to say, I'm very impressed! Your knowledge of electrical and industrial in Rust is truly outstanding! I am struggling to understand certain aspects of this sorting system for how it would apply to the scale of an actual large clan base. Could you maybe make a mock base with numerous boxes to show how you would set that up after a wipe? Thanks a bunch, keep going, this is all very good content!

Hey thanks for the video. It’s very informative, I do however struggle to keep up and understand each things complexity.

It’s just a bit to choppy and loads of information quickly, it’s concise which I like, but my tiny pea brain can’t keep up sometimes haha.

Thanks for the video though, I will just use this and figure it out on my base as I learn more about sorting systems thanks :)

Thank you so much for this playlist and especially this video! Your teaching style is really easy to follow. I got tier 0 and tier 1 working really well first try today.

Similar to a multibox, for anyone that wants to have a box that has specific items that also exists in a category, use a sandwhich set-up. For example, if you want to have a clothes box and an armor box on your tier 1, especially before you need tier 2, put the regular clothes category on the clothes box and then use the sandwhich set-up for the armor box using the specific items you want in the box - that seemed to work for me.

Another spot I use the sandwhich set up is comps because Rust doesn't count cameras or laptops as comps and everyone I play with puts those in the comps box - obviously if I were to add tier 2, I would move the cameras and laptops to the loot room.

I'm going to try adding in autosmelting and auto tc filling tomorrow (Practicing before thursday's wipe)

Thanks again and looking forward to more videos in this series. :)

Ps. QUESTION - This is probably a silly question, but if I wanted a box for everything that isn't already accounted for with filters to go in, is that possible?

Great video, some great tips. Like stopping loot cycling through 2 boxes all the time

Thank you for the interesting video. Would you mind explaining the purpose of the splitter and combiner trees? I understand the need to add combiners and splitters as you add more boxes to the system, but is there another purpose for having the trees from the beginning?

Done on mobile so sorrybin advance for formatting.

For the items category I use the category "bp_deployables" takes care of mostly everything else after (in the order I do it as a solo):
Box 1 Weapons/Ammo
Box 2 Tools
Box 3 Direct connect from box 2 as overflow
Box 4 clothes/meds
Box 5 electrical/construction
Box 6 spare for 5 (my favorite)
Box 7 comps/bp_deployables
TC- Resources

Usually what's left in the box not to filter is green cards and traps (traps is a category but I choose not to use it based on its rarity for me)

Edit: and food to a fridge

i'd say industrial splitter and combiner are kindda useless unless u wanna play with the circuits. The most things u wanna use the most is conveyors, storage adaptors and that's it. The reason of this it's because you can serial-connect them with a daisy circuit with the output - input - output input and leaving the first chest input free, to connect it to the industrial conveyor.

The only thing I can find really useful if u wanna split loot from a dropbox to multiple chest, it's crafting 1 industrial conveyor per chest + a splitter/s to connect them.

in tier 0, why do the dropboxes go to a combiner instead of being daisy chained? I can only think of:

simplicity, somewhat
safety - if you were to daisy chain, a box destroyed means your buffer box won't be pulling from that box nor any of the ones before it on the chain

Great video! Question: it appears you didn't have to set all categories on the conveyor between the drops and the buffer box. Did I miss something?

A great video! Do you know if there's a way to filter a stackable item in daisy-chained boxes to stack sequentially instead of simultaneously?

Yeah you just got a sub, this is beautiful

What splitter exactly do I use for a locker? I tried the T2 splitter tree, but was only able to pull items from both simple and multi- T1 boxes, not from my T2 boxes. I tried adding a splitter to the T1/T2 combiner tree before buffer box and get nothing.
