Massive flooding hits southern China's Hainan, rescue operations underway

Firefighters evacuated a total of 31 people stranded in rain-triggered flooding on Tuesday in Wanning City of south China's Hainan Province, according to local authorities.

A strong rainstorm hit Tianxin Village of Liji Town on Tuesday, leaving roads in and out of the village submerged and over 60 households flooded by water. The depth of the floodwater was more than 1.5 meters.

Local authorities immediately launched a massive rescue operation by searching and evacuating stranded people to safe areas with inflatable boats.

Is this normal for China or is the flooding getting out of hand. When I real old chinese novels, flood problems are highlighted there. So, is there any way to stop this or it will keep happening.
