Found one on eBay for $70 "Open Box" literally. Comes in original box and has all the wires and manual etc.. Going to run it into my equalizer and to my stereo receiver and see how that sounds. I figure if I can run my tape deck and CD player thru there I should be able to do so with this turntable. Will update in a few days-week or so :)

The last Electrohome product I had seen, serviced and used were a preamp-mixer(tube) with two tubed 6L6 monoblock power amps.Was at the music dept at the college I attended.The amps needed new tubes-then sounded GREAT!Can't remember the speaker brands-this was like 40yrs ago!

It looks like my dad's 70s integrated amp and speaker record player, which had a bog standard BRS turntable, but wasn't too bad for all that. Following in my father's footsteps, mine was an Alba branded integrated amp and plastic speaker BRS unit, which also had handy bass and treble sliders. After a salesman persuaded me to upgrade to a diamond stylus, it didn't sound too bad either.

$99-119 for the turntable alone, $199 with speakers, either way a pretty good deal for a new turntable with a counterweight. I too would have liked to seen a metal platter, however for that price point plastic seems acceptable. Looks like it is better made than the more expensive IKEA turntable which has similar attributes (albeit an attempt at Scandinavian design).

Turntable has auto stop. Sounds good. Cheaper on Amazon than Electrohome website. 👍

Two reasons the speakers sound muddy (at first): they're on the same level and surface as the turntable, and they haven't had any burn-in time. But they still sound wonderful. Nice to see Electrahome went out of their niche to produce this product. The quality, as usual, is typical Electrahome, which means very good. I doubt any problems will show up during its warranty period I d.

Strangely enough, following you and VWest's recommendation, I got myself an Audio Technica LP120X, in the summer, which is an incredible piece of kit and oddly gives me aspects of sound I haven't heard on my old records, I had not experienced, since the days of my old Alba. Most strange.

I love it, it’s only 1 of 2 turntables that have direct to thumb, drive recording and magnetic cartridge in one turntable. You can find this feature on other players, but not with a magnetic cartridge. I only know of this one, and the one by Denon.

Another nice turntable that knows my heart's desire; I can close the dust cover while the record is playing. And the unit is full sized, so the dust cover needs no slots cut into it to make room for the record.

I watched this video about 4 days ag, and checked the Amazon link. At the time, the bundle, with bt transmitter, usb recording was $150-ish. This setup had my attention, so I went to Amazon on another device with my account, (we don’t have prime), and it was on sale for $110. I saw that you could pick a turntable alone, it was $50, or with the bt, usb extras, for $60. I did end up buying the bundle without bt, usb, for $100 and tax.

NOW, , , the prices have doubled! A standard turntable, non bundle, non bt, usb is $100.

The whole package now, , $220.

I’m speechless otherwise here!

This was informative but I would have really liked to see you hook it to a stereo receiver and show that. I intend on using mine that way and have not seen whether I need to use in with the Pre Amp ON or OFF when running into my RCA input on the back of my stereo. I think ON...Perhaps when mine is delivered the directions will specify.

Looks like a notch or two above the very basic units and not a bad starter unit for that something is brand new that has bluetooth as well. £190 here in the U.K.. But spending £190 or less second hand will get you something much better, without bluetooth maybe. Thanks for the uploads

Back in the 70s, you could buy units like this for under $50 in hundreds of discount stores. I had one, and it served me well. I agree with some of the other posts, any of the AT entry level decks would probably be a better buy. A good review. Thx! 👍

I kind of like the looks of the turntable, although I wish the arm looked a bit sleeker. And the problem with the counterbalance is significant.

interesting that they made custom writing and logos and mould for this version, sad you did not take it apart to see what is inside. To me it looks like the counterweight is a cheap hot fix, someone screwed up the production and thus, they took the easiest way and "updated" the instructions with a sticker. Strange approach, especially when you make custom moulding and otherwise it seems to have attention to detail. Oh, well.

That Electrohome system sounded pretty good. Looking up official tracking force for the 3600L, I’m getting 2.5g to 3.5g, with 3.5g being the maximum not the minimum tracking weight.

On the face of it, seems a decent system for those starting out or upgrading from a suitcase player for example.
