Over the weekend, golf icon Tiger Woods shared a simple video of himself hitting a golf ball – the first time he’s been seen doing that since his devastating car accident nine months ago. The video had a two-word message: “Making progress.” TODAY’s Sheinelle Jones reports.

Tiger woods is proof that if you’re running late for something, you’re going to be late. No point in rushing anymore. Especially since he was the main guy and they weren’t going to do anything without him.

Hes given golf so many memories, I'll watch him regardless of whether he not he's in contention on Sunday or not. He has had transgressions just like every other human being, he owned up to them and worked through them which helped me to respect him as person not just a golfer. he also worked through debilitating injuries that most would've said "you know what? its frustrating that my body is breaking down but i've had a great career Im gonna hang em up" instead he came back and won a 5th green jacket.

1997 to 2010 was by far the most dominant stretch in the history of golf, I turned 18 in 2000 so I was lucky enough to witness and remember those years, obviously I remember his struggles as well. Is he the best to ever play? I dont know. I do know he's a legend and anything he does in competitive golf, win or lose from here out i'll see as icing on the cake.

I'm glad he's okay and able to walk. The accident looked bad, and I didn't see much news about his recovery. That he can play golf is a bonus.

I'd say that "the single most significant golf swing of 2021" was that huge drive by Bryson DeChambeau of 400+ yards on the par5 which cut the corner at the Ryder Cup. Or his drive on the first hole where he then putted and made eagle.

Yes, Tiger news is huge news. I'd love to see him recover to the extent that allows him to compete and challenge once more, or at least to the extent that lets him go out and enjoy his golf pain-free. But recency bias is a "thing", and this is a prime example of it.

I'm no DeChambeau cheerleader; I enjoy finesse and touch in golf, and as a Brit I'm "Team Europe" all the way at the Ryder cup. But those two bombs of DeChambeau's were the "most significant golf swings of 2021", be in no doubt.

Let's see how he does. As he learns to play more and more within himself, and get out of his own way I suspect his short game, mid irons will be where he can score. It's just if he can balance losing some length from the young guys with playing a more in control game. He's got to consistently find fairways though.

No hype. PGA days are over, maybe the champions tour. A few golf swings aren't representative of walking 72 holes week in and week out. Great watching his glory days, but reality sets in...he was having a hard time of it with his back injury's and surgeries.
