In the first round of the 1999 RBC Heritage (formerly MCI Classic), Tiger Woods an approach from a fairway bunker shot on the par-4 6th hole to about 7 feet then two putts for par at Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

So many of Tiger's greatest shots of all time have been out of fairway bunkers - 72nd hole of 2000 Canadian Open, his faded pitching wedge at 2019 WGC, hanging lie at the 2002 PGA Championship.

What’s more impressive than the result is the technique. Watch how level and still his head stays throughout the swing, ensuring he makes solid contact when the clubhead makes it back to the ball. That is paramount for shots where your feet and the ball are on different elevations, and he executes this very well.

Tiger has not played the Heritage in many, many years...and it’s the second date on the revised Tour schedule. In fact, the first five events once play resumes are ones he hasn’t participated in for a long time, if ever. I wonder if we’ll see him before the Memorial in mid-July.
