Les forces vitales exprimé au travers de cette rivière majestueuse dirigées par éminent chef d'orchestre Daniel Barenboim est absolument fabuleuse, Merci !

The Moldau is my favorite piece of classical music and this is by far the best performance of it I’ve found. Barenboim and the incredible Vienna Phil - what a combo. Perfect tempo, intensity, and dynamics.

I use this to put my daughter to sleep. Works every single time. Such a beautiful piece.

I am currently playing this piece in Seattle, and this was suggested by our conductor. What a magnificant performing/recording! The camera even occasionally focuses on my section, percussion!

Ahhhh. Everyone else plays it too fast, so that the gorgeous flute and clarinet intro gets lost.

Nejlepší co jsem kdy slyšela. Mám slzy v očích .Moc bych přála maestru Barenboimovi aby tu naší Vltavu taky zažil. Opravdu. Od pramenů až po majestátní průtok Prahou a klidný a velkolepý soutok Labe a Vltavy. Maestro přijeďte.

Да, это исполнение нравится мне больше других. Особенно отношение к метро-ритму (вступление очень метричное, зато тема свободно дышит рубато - точно, как нужно!)
Баренбойм - спасибо Вам!

Hearing this piece always reminds me of a comment by another Youtuber on a video of a perfomarnce of this amazing work. To paraphrase: An army of aliens was massed in their space ships around the earth. With dismay they viewed the wars, the environmental devastation, the sufferings of the poor and the hungry, and the extravagant ambitions of political leaders, and decided that the planet was ripe for destruction. Then one happened to tune into a broadcast of Vltava, and said: "Let's hold off for a while: maybe this place is worth saving after all."

The intro is so very COSMIC nostalgic beautiful. Makes me want to cry an ocean of joyful tears and whispering sighs of faithful longings. PWG. P.S. I had the honor of meeting one of his distant relatives(A poetic young lady) some years ago on a transit bus in Baltimore, Md. How extraordinary philosophic!

So, funny story... As a kid I used to watch cartoons a lot, and fell in love one so much. The name of the cartoon was Mermaid Melody / Pichi pichi pitch, and it was like an anime, and it was suuuper popular in my country Serbia under the name Princeze sirene.
And as I grew older I kept rewatching it from time to time, and started paying more attention to details. And as I was watching I heard a few amazing classical pieces, and this was one of them.
Since then, I was trying to figure out what was the name of this piece, and a few weeks ago, as I was scroling on the tik tok or yt reels, I heard it in the back of some random video, and finally found it.
Since that day I listen to it constantly, and I adore it so much. It just brings me my childhood and happiness back...🤍

I was watching a Rick Steves video, and this piece was in the video. Such a great piece of music. To be honest, I have never even heard of Bedrich Smetana, but I will have to listen to some of his music
