*Goal* : i wanna gain experience in the job market(or specifically in that retail)(is it your favorite restaurant? Why)
*Edu* : talk about school (what did u learn?, clubs? And why)(stay where u are add ur gpa average if its good)
*Background hist* : (babysiting etc are listed as jobs and experience for ur background)
*basically sell the good side of you*
Dont wait more than a week after u have applied, call them like "hey i was in an interview earlier (or however long it was id say give it a few hours before calling or checking up because they most likely forgot. Dont go longer than a week)just want to know if i got the job" or go up to the manager "i know we have had an interview not too long ago but i want to meet you and i want you to meet me" make sure you smile and sit up straight, u know how u are fake around people sometimes? Yea do that. (Hope this helped, just a little summery)

After applying online, I have my students take a hard copy of their resume and go in to the place they applied - tell HR or the manager that they've applied online and introduce themselves, say I'm excited to meet you and can't wait to hear from you soon. It's an awesome way to make a connection beyond paper!

Hey great video! I work as a recruiter, so I would advise that individuals include a extracurriculars section to speak about leadership experience from basketball or, the debate team. Recruiters spend on average 6-8 seconds on a resume, so it’s important that the space at the top of a resume is used tactically. Also, people should include metrics or numbers from their experiences. So, number of clients served, customer satisfaction rating, average number of children attended to at a time, etc. Lastly, high school students should prioritize gaining/presenting customer service skills because those jobs are more likely to consider hiring them right out of high school.
