In nature, evolution is a process that takes hundreds of years, whereas the entire evolution of mountain biking fits within a lifetime. Or Hans Rey’s shed, as it happens!

As long as I have been riding bikes (39 years) Hans Rey has been there in the scene shining the light on MTB. The gap jump he did high in the mountains in this, he did with Steve Peat and the images in the photo shoot were amazing Is he in the MTB hall of Fame? Bloody well hope so. A pioneer .

I need a 2 hour special where he sits down and really goes through each bike in the collection.

Hans Rey is a legend, he inspired me to try trials riding, I then figured out I’m no good at trials riding.

So nice to see people from the very early days of mountainbiking still around, and still having fun, spreading the joy. Read so many mtb magazines those days, and was in awe at the stuff he pulled off. Nice video!

Thanks Hans for changing many people's lives for the better .History tells us that many cyclists consider themselves purists thus resist change. The uptake of Emtbs is simply the Evolution of human thinking to accept the fantastic technology that allows us to enjoy life even more. I don't think they are for racing just Fun Fun Fun and it's not one or the other but ride both Emtbs and naturally aspirated mtbs to enhance the joy of cycling. Emtbs turn us into gleeful kids again. They are a Time Machine. E=Mtb²

Legend, love it! You were first mtber I ever saw in a movie Hans, riding down your steep front yard track at your house in Laguna Beach, we went straight out on our full rigid steel 12 speeds with our minds blown wide open and never looked back. Thanks!

It's a good reminder of just how good we have it these days. How lucky I am to be alive during this age of mountain bike tech Renaissance.

Awesome! Great to see how Hans impacted biking and took it beyond riding from A to B. I saw a news clip of some guy in LA hopping over cars in a traffic jam in order to get to a scheduled interview. This was when I took notice of Hans del Rey. I got his autograph when he came to John Henry Bicycles in North Vancouver to help support mountain biking in North Vancouver. He's a legend.
