He could’ve token the easy way out. Try to flee. Instead, he made one last epic charge with his soldiers. A true Roman Emperor.

Imagine a Emperor who fights his own battles, what a sight that would be.

One of the greatest speeches ever given and a great example of bravery in the face of annihilation and of what it means to be a man. A real man. My respects to the great emperor, perhaps the greatest of them all. And what a way to go down in history, leading a final charge of a legion of your finest most loyal soldiers against the enemy, to never be seen again.

This guy is quite respected by Muslims for this reason surprisingly. Just like how Saladin is respected by Christians.
By the way, I saw your Abdulrahman I, founder of the Emirate of Cordoba video and it was great. I hope you make a similar video for saladin.

He's the Marble King, believed to have been saved by an angel and turned to stone and awaits under the golden gate of Constantinople awaiting a call from God to reconquer the city and the old empire.

"A day shall come when sacred Troy shall perish and Priam and his people shall be slain." In the dead of night, masked by fire, smoke and slaughter, Aeneas led a group of Trojans out of their city to lands unseen. In the west, his descendants founded a new city, Rome, a new Troy. The descendants of Troy spread across the Mediterranean and clashed with the Carthaginians in the Punic wars. Three generations of Barcas and Scipios waged war upon each other. When Carthage finally burned and was salted, a 19 year old Scipio Amilianus remembered Homer "A day shall come when sacred Troy shall perish, and Priam and his people shall be slain." In his eyes, he saw the flames of Carthage, but in his words, he spoke of flames of Rome. Rome would burn several times before it fell, yet it was not the end of the Romans. Constantinople, the new Rome, built much closer to Troy still stood. Yet in time, it too did fall. And unlike Aeneas, Constantine XI fell with his city. Rome began and fell with a Romulus, the western empire began and fell with an Agustus, and the Eastern empire began and fell with a Constantine.

I got to admit the fall of Constantinople is quite sad in a way because such a great civilization / empire fell and met the dead end. I can only wish to see what that great city must’ve looked like when the empire was still thriving.
