Calculate Normal Force in an Accelerating Elevator | Physics Explained

Показать описание
Use Newton's laws and free body diagrams to determine the normal force on an object which is accelerating vertically in an elevator. The most common misconception in this problem is people mistake the net force for the normal force. To do this problem correctly the weight (mg) of the object in the elevator must be accounted for.
This problem commonly comes up in introductory physics classes including AP Physics 1, AP Physics C and some entry college physics courses.
As always this is animated poorly with legos.
