It’s the court case that sent shockwaves across the globe - and this morning it was confirmed that Gisele Pelicot’s ex-husband, Dominique, has been found guilty of drugging his wife and allowing other men to rape her - receiving the maximum sentence of 20 years. Fifty other men, aged 27 to 74, have also received their verdicts today - with prosecutors seeking terms of between four and 18 years for the other defendants. Do our panel feel like harsher and longer sentencing would have been appropriate for a case of this magnitude - particularly for Gisele’s husband? Our panel react to the latest breaking news following the verdict.

From series 27, broadcast on 19/12/24

I am in awe of Gisèle Pelicots courage in waiving her anonymity so the full horrific details are in the public domain. Her dignity is inspiring.

As a man I'm disgusted and absolutely horrified by what this husband and these men did to this woman. There's no words. There's no comprehension. It's evil and degradation at its lowest form. I can't verbalise how I feel about this. Except, what an incredible woman.

None of the men should ever get out of jail. Who wants men like that walking amongst us.

20 years is way to lenient. The only redeeming point is he is currently 72 years old, provided he doesn't get paroled early, it is highly likely he will die in prison. As for the others, way, way, too lenient. Their claim they didn't know what was going on in absolute nonsense - 50 men and not one of them thought it suspicious this woman was unconscious and they were told not to wake her or leave any tell tale signs such as scent. They all knew exactly what they were doing.

It's just not worth the fight for most of us. Especially when there might be reprisals while trying and then once the attackers are out. I was too frightened for my mother. We're just not protected. No shame here, just lack of faith.

He's apparently eligible for parole after serving 2/3 of his sentence. It might also include time served (4 years). An absolute JOKE of a sentence.

He should have got life in prison. 20 years is not enough.
