Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Exclusively talks to India Today After Budget 2024 & discussed the interim budget, the state of the Indian economy, and the past decade under PM Modi's leadership. She emphasized that the interim budget is merely a vote on account to keep the government's business going, avoiding any populist measures. She expressed optimism about the Indian economy, citing the power of word-of-mouth from beneficiaries of government promises. These beneficiaries come from all sections of society and their positive experiences instill trust in the government. She also highlighted the absence of corruption scandals in the past decade as a significant achievement. However, She acknowledged external challenges, such as wars abroad and supply chain disruptions, as areas of concern. She also discussed the need for a white paper on the state of the economy inherited by the PM Modi government.
