Press volume up then release, press volume down then release, the hold down power button until it shows a usb cable on screen. This will take about 30-45 seconds, do not release power button when apple logo appears but wait for the usb cable to appear on screen. Now connect to pc and open iTunes and it will have say an update is required on iPhone.
