Jennifer Rock, aka "The Skin Nerd", is partnering with the Irish Cancer Society to bust some serious myths around skin care, sun damage and skin cancer prevention. Here she tackles the myth that Irish weather and the few sunny days a year of sun we get here in Ireland means you don't get skin damage. So not true...!

Being of half Irish descent on both sides, I have paper thin, fair skin. My Mom had skin cancer twice on her face, and died because of medication given to her after removal surgery.
I never go a day without 2 layers. Zinc oxide goes on first, then a BB 30 spf cream. But the damage was probably already done in the 60's, 70's and 80's. All young girls should know NOW to protect their skin. Forehead to toes! Wear a hat... A tan only means you've cooked your skin!
