Loving your skin is a personal choice, one we have the opportunity to make every day. However, the simple truth is 61% of Irish women and men think their skin tone is less attractive than other nationalities and ethnicities. At Therapie Clinic we think everyone should love their skin and really care for it, no matter what your age, gender, nationality or ethnicity.

I found this video while trying to youtube Irish skincare routines (yes I know that is weird). I'm American, but my ancestry is Irish and so I have super pale and extremely sensitive skin. I struggle with acne and acne scars and it is so difficult to find anything that will work with my skin. I've been dealing with this since I was 12 and I'm almost 21 now. It's frustrating for me. 
Anyway, this video was nice, and I appreciated it. Living in California all my life, I do stand out because I am so pale. I have been harassed and made fun of for my overly pale skin, and at times growing up it really did hurt me. I'd try self tanner and all that ridiculous stuff, but it only made me look like an orange oompa loompa! I've grown to absolutely love my skin! Seriously, I adore it. Even if I do deal with acne and all (that is a total downer) but my skin tone is beautiful and I wouldn't change it for the world.

As a former cosmetologist, I can't even begin to tell you the number of people who sat in my chair and expressed dislike for what God gave them. How sad this was to me. The girl who said she didn't wear pink....oh, wow. Pink would be one of her best colors! The black women who bleach their skin, and have their children do the same! Teach your children appreciation for what they've been given naturally. To live in gratitude. If there's one thing I learned in the beauty business, it's that beauty comes in all colors and to love the skin you're in. This video makes my heart ache.

What I find funny about the people in this video is that they're saying to embrace your Irish skin and that pale is back in and Ivory complexions are beautiful yet nearly all of those people have either fake tan on or bronzer or a foundation thats darker than their natural skin tone.

Yess, this is so true! I definitely feel less attractive because of my Irish skin, and it’s kind of pink ish which makes it worse, and the freckles on top of the pink, i just am ashamed of it. I hate seeing people who have tanner and more even skin I’m so jealous! And i don’t like posting any pics of my face since I hate my skin that much. I know it’s kind of sad to hate my natural skin but I can’t think of any reasons to like it.

As an American with a lot of Irish and Scottish ancestry (resulting in me having very pale skin), it's quite hard because being pale is never considered beautiful.

Nooo waaay :OO irish people feel bad about their skin?!?! I looove pale irish guys with Dark hair and blue/green/brown eyes... They are like perfect!! And woman is a beautiful combination too... This was an interesting video. I found this as I was searching for makeup tutorials for Irish skin (Scottish here, but with 100% Irish skin). I have a love hate relationship with my pale skin and freckles. When I was younger I faked tanned every week, but now it’s fairly rare I do now. But I do love a golden glow as it makes my blue eyes pop more. My other half loves my pale skin and says it is beautiful. He has Irish blood too, but he’s the rare one that takes a great colour in the sun x

im part irish and scottish and it shows i have freckles and white skin that is "as white as tooth paste" or "white as a ghost" and some have called me a night light and sometimes it does really hurt to be called that because even tho most are joking i cant tan whenever ive tried ive just burnt my skin and i dont wanna wear makeup so im stuck with my white skin and freckles i wish people would think before saying something even if it is a joke because jokes can sometimes be taken too far or just be harmful to the person they are joking with i try to remind myself tho that i am very pretty and i know that sometimes but sometimes i just say "nah your ugly your weird and nobody actually believes your pretty"

I’m quite black and to me The Irish skin tone isn’t much different to white people here in Australia. There is beauty in every corner of the globe. however I do love the milky Maidens tho and of course the Red hair ! 😘
