Great review. I'm happy that these conversations are becoming more and more mainstream. A lot of us had similar experiences growing up, and we didn't always know how to articulate that being part of the klan isn't the only form of racism. And that certain mindsets and attitudes actually played a larger part in maintaining the impacts of racism more than extreme hate groups. So it's great that people are getting more and more literature breaking down racism in all of its forms.

You are correct. There is no room for neutrality in the face of racism. In order to have a productive discussion we must agree on the definition of terms. That is a big part of the problem. We as a nation cannot agree with the definition of most of these terms. That leaves us on step 1.

I have not read this book but my mother has, she has it on her kindle audible. She explained to me the concepts and how she changed the way of seeing of actually seeing things through the lens of Ibram Kendi in some issues, Just noticed I was not subscribed to you . !!!! I am glad that you tackled this book - I have yet to read it but I did read "Woke Church" by Dr. Eric Mason, which I think is an interesting examination of the evangelical leg of racial issues and the Church's responsibility in that.

Loved this summary and hearing your thoughts about it! Yes, it really makes the difference to be antiracist contra not racist. Same when it comes to a lot of things really. I can also relate to not having watched the same movies as friends, growing up in a Christian household where we weren't allowed to watch movies reccomended for older children, teenagers or adults, while quite a few of my friends from secular families were brought up in it. Same with vocabulary. I remember friends being shocked I didn't know certain words. Regarding some issues, I guess it's the way we were brought up and with whom we spent time with. But for other issues, it definitely covers discrimination and stigma. May God provoke us to be antiracist and anti-x which is against His will 🙏 And as you said at the end, focus on and praising Jesus that He's given us the victory 🙌
