A WEEK BACK IN ENGLAND! Moving Back..?

A week back in the UK & I vlogged it! So many wonderful surprises & I feel sooo grateful to have the incredible family & friends that I do. Miss them SO much. Lots of feelings updates in this vlog! As someone who moved (and still lives) abroad I can tell you that the first year is SO hard. There are so many feelings - homesickness, loneliness, uncertainty, discomfort, excitement, etc. I promise it does get better!! It just takes time to find your place and build a community. It's such a massive change with high highs and low lows, and it can be exhausting living day to day with that discomfort - even when you're happy in a place, but that uncomfortable feeling will start to disappear as time goes on! You're truly in the toughest part right now (that 6 month mark) AND you're pregnant! And it's completely normal to feel a million emotions when you go home, as it holds so many memories and people you love - which is a beautiful thing. You should be so proud of yourself. Also, once you moved to America you found out you were pregnant with your little girl, there must be something special about where you are now, and the journey you're on! x 💞✨💖

The UK will always be there and be the same! There’s no rush to get back, enjoy your adventure and if you do eventually go back you’ve given your little family the best memories and experience 🤍

Ellie it's not a failure if you come back it's been a great adventure for the kiddies, but on the flip side staying and following your dream is great lesson for life for your little ones showing them that life is for living, it all depends on what you can live without close family and friends seem to what are calling you home, how will you feel with a little lady in toe I would want her growing up her family omg what a toughy beaut sending you all the ❤ in decisions xx

If you decide to move back to the UK you have taught us that it’s okay to take a risk and follow your dreams but for those dreams to not always work out the way you thought and that it’s okay to change your mind! Ah, babe ❤. Watching your vlog reminded me of a song about a man who moves from New York, where he was born and raised to LA and feels homesick. The lyric goes, "LA's fine, but it ain't home. New York's home, but it ain't mine no more."
It's natural to feel a longing for your home country. The UK will always be home, and it will always feel right to be here - and it will always be here anytime you want to come back, either temporarily or permanently.
You're living your dream right now, and it's an opportunity of a lifetime for you and your family. Not many people either could, or would dare, do what you're doing. Live it to the full, embrace it, try moving around the US as you've planned.

I think you are feeling happy to be back in America as that’s where you children and hubby are, being in America doesn’t necessarily mean you feel that’s your home it’s just being back with them again so what I am trying to say is anywhere will feel like home as long as you have the children, hubby and dogs with you. I think coming back to UK was an eye opener for you again and realising that’s where your heart is. I lived in American when my two children were very small and honestly couldn’t wait to come back to UK, I felt to selfish that my kids were missing out on growing up with their cousins, grand parents etc. you have given your dream a go and you’re loving it but there’s no place like home 🏡 (the Uk I mean ) good luck with whatever you decide to do, I can’t wait for the next vlog

One thing that stands out to me Elle is how loved you are, both by everyone in the Uk and of course by Conor & the boys (& dogs😉) in the US. What lovely memories the UK group have given you.
PS being an Aussie, I completely get your love of Cadbury as we have it down under….just the best! 🍫 😋
PPS whenever I visit my sisters in the UK…the first thing I want to do is go to W H Smith….i love newsagents & all the magazines and cards etc! 😂

Not to add another spanner into your thought process about moving back - but I would definitely have a look into the fact that baby girl will be a US citizen and what this actually means for her. She will have tax implications for life simply because she's a US citizen - such as paying taxes in the US even if you guys move back and she spends her lifeand works in the UK. She'll have to report yearly income to the IRS. You'll have to register her as a UK citizen as it will be done by descent rather than where she is born (this process takes 2-4 months and you can't get her a UK passport until she's a citizen).

Evan Edinger on YouTube has a lot of videos about this. He's originally an American but now has UK citizenship and he's made videos about this which you might find useful! You guys will make the right decision for your family :)
