Well out of nowhere Microsoft has decided to spin off rights around streaming Activision Blizzard games with an unlikely partner.

Man, CMA, just pass it already. Every single other regulatory body has already passed it or lost in court trying to block it. Even Sony already signed a deal.

Look at the bigger picture why pick Ubisoft why not anyone else. Think about it Ubisoft still needs to pay to have the rights to Activision streaming but what if Microsoft charges them a very low fee in exchange of putting Ubisoft + into Gamepass Ultimate for the next 10 yrs. making Gamepass Ultimate a beast with both Ubisoft + and EA play attached to it.

This is the first time since the 360 era that it feels like Microsoft has a genuine opportunity to really treat Sony's dominance, if Stanfield is a hit and they are able to deliver at least 3 high quality AAA games per year, not only gamepass will grow more but the console division might finally start to grow to an actually good sales number, no wonder sony already wants to release a pro version to market that they have the hardware wise superior console.

I think its a sign that when the deal closes, ubisoft+ will roll into game pass ultimate, not effecting cloud streaming 1 bit 🤷‍♂️

Sure the deal would work out elsewhere, but it would make sense for xbox to just bring that in once it crosses the line.
Also, don't forget not every game streams on the cloud, so microsoft could still deny the sale of the streaming rights to ubisoft for specific games 👀

There is too much good stuff already in Gamepass. It is a myth that there are no big games in there. With all this new content it is overwhelming.

I get what Microsoft is trying to do with giving a company not owned by Microsoft the rights to their cloud gaming, but i don't like that it's Ubisoft.... With that being said, it's a big power move by taking away the only thing the CMA has got going for them in this case.

Never was a XBox or Microsoft fanboy, but I really liked what Phil Spencer said in his IGN interview.

Could this be a hint that Xbox/Microsoft is planning to buyout or buy up Ubisoft before the fifteen year cloud agreement would expire? Sounds so intriguing.

There's some back room deal with Ubi and Microsoft with this. Ubi, even though they have the rights to the ABK library for Cloud gaming, still have to pay Microsoft.

Ubi are free to put ABK games (Cloud versions) on any Cloud service they choose for a fee, including their own.

Can probably say safely that XCloud is a cert. Microsoft are highly unlikely to pay Ubisoft to have games they own on their service.

I'll believe it when I see it from Microsoft. They have stumbled over themselves one release after another over the past several years. I hope they do have it figured out, though. The last thing we need is only Nintendo and Sony controlling the video game space for console gaming.
