Can a believer lose their salvation? Does Matthew 7:23 contradict Eternal Security? To whom does Jesus profess "Depart from me" and "I never knew you"? I pray this video provides clarity and dispels any confusion concerning this subject. God bless! - OD

The most dreadful thing the Lord could ever say to any person, " I never knew you". Believe in the Lord Jesus and know without a shadow of a doubt that you are saved for eternity. Praise Jesus!

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
John 6:29 -

"We are saved by faith, not works lest any man should BOAST"...what were these people doing? BOASTING of their works instead of trusting the blood of Christ. If you think you will be granted entrance to heaven by saying "I was a good person..." you're in trouble. The only justification is "I DON'T deserve to be here but I trusted in YOUR blood, YOUR works" Lord.

Believe How that Christ died for your sins, He shed His blood, was buried, and rose again on the third day according to the scriptures 🎺

Jhn 6:37 (KJV)
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

Note: all that come to Christ Jesus. Not the ones who go to themselves for a solution to their sin problem but the ones who go to Jesus!

This scripture in Matthew is the most people twist. Many don't understand biblically speaking what the "will" of the Father is, and believe just because we sin we're not saved or we will have to depart from the Lord, but on the contrary....
It's unreal, but you knock it out of the ball park brother!! Amen!!

I’m at that point now where I feel so certain that I’m saved so much so that even if I didn’t want it anymore it’s too late the gift is mine I already accepted it and I will never be able to give it back and not that I would want to give it back and neither would I ever want to but I couldn’t even if I did.

In John 15:5-6 we read:

"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned."

Some Christians interpret this verse as meaning that one's salvation can be lost.

I'm a fledgling Christian and would appreciate any clarification regarding this verse.

Thank you! 🙏🏼

It's Jesus Christ alone, or nothing and no one . I stand or fall on Him and His sacrifice for me on the Cross at Calvary . I put all my trust in Jesus. I can't get Home without Him .

Well said. People have the tendency to see "I never knew you" as an "insult" and, as you point out, it's most likely literal.

Excellent video. Thank you for sharing that verse in Galatians. People who have trusted in Christ alone are “Known by God”
Another verse was shared with me is
Nahum 1: 7The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
To those that say you must have the works either to receive eternal life or to retain eternal life or to prove that you are saved are trusting in themselves and not the finished work of Christ.
The fact they bring up works or a changed life or repentance of sins or obedience as part of a requirement for receiving eternal life is proof they don’t put 100% of their faith in Christ alone. The don’t trust Christ fully is why they keep bringing it up and boast about how much closer they are to God because they obey him but not ever fully letting go of themselves and simply trusting Christ with a child like faith.
These people think we are giving people a license to sin because they are themselves in bondage to the law of sin and death again because they haven’t trusted Christ alone.

'Lose' may suggest a kind of accidental occurrence (an appearance or a mishap .. dropping, breaking it, having the gift snatched away), in which case: no. Reject it, and in choosing - quite freely - to set aside, disown or abandon that gift (of healing - from sin and its reward, death) i.e. in forfeiting (losing a claim on) the offered reward (- restoration to life), then; yes, e.g. those called to the grace of eternal life may go on (or back to) following the ways that lead to death, eternally separated from God, knowingly, obdurately and impenitently. Thus like it or not we must indeed work out our own salvation - with awe and concern - by grace through faith in the works prepared by God beforehand to be our way of life in Christ - for we have a part to play in our healing, that of co-operation with divine favour; actually taking up the cross, as best we may*, to follow the Pioneer of our Faith, no more, no less, finally, with all perseverance.
Keep the Faith; tell the truth, shame the devil, and let the demons shriek.
God bless. ;o)
* One's state in life makes a difference, some with greater moral responsibility, some less, some with none. Intellectual ability to comprehend the gift, the purpose, the task and the means is one differentiating factor. The capacity, or freedom, to do this also plays its part.

What one must believe to be saved is that through Jesus they have eternal life (OSAS) by his grace (not their own righteousness):
Acts 15:11 - But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
Galatians 2:21 - I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
1 John 5:10 - He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
1 John 5:11 - And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

Amen Brother. False teachers twist these verses to prove that a person never did enough works to be saved. They completely reject the idea that we are saved by faith alone in Jesus finished work on the cross plus nothing. Those that are trusting in their own works have not trusted in His finished work on the cross plus nothing.

They all have one thing in common. They all say, "well, you cannot just believe" . You have to do good works. And then they will go to James to prove that salvation is not a free gift.

The twist/wrest the scriptures to their own destruction. James was writing to converted Jews. Already believers. Saved by faith alone in Christ alone. James was telling them to go on to good works, (not for salvation), but for rewards in heaven for the believer. Romans 4:2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he would have something to glory/boast in, but not before God. Abraham was justified before men by good works, but not before God. Romans 4:3. Abraham believed God, and was justified by faith 430 years before Moses gave the law.

Romans 4:5. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him who JUSTIFIETH the UNGODLY, his faith is counted for His perfect righteousness. Romans 4:6-8. Romans 3:26-28. Romans 5:19-21 Where sin abounds, grace much more abounds. Colossians 2:13. We have been forgiven all trespasses. Jesus paid it all and we paid 0. It cost Jesus everything and cost us nothing. He paid the debt of sin we owe God so we can never be condemned again. John 3:18. John 6:47. John 6:40. John 6:29. John 10:28-29. John 3:16. First John 5:13. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE.
