I saw a great horned owl on a walk with my kids a couple nights ago. I did this call and he looked at me. We had a moment. ☺️

the trick is to keep your left hand covering more of your right than the other way around, and to relax. don’t squeeze your hands too tightly, keep everything loose and have patientce. keep trying different positions by shifting your hands slightly. once you feel a buzzing when you blow, that’s how u know you’re close. i got it within 20 minutes and ive been practicing doing it on command since and im getting it between 2-3 tries now. you got this.

I actually learned it!!! It was harder than i thought cuz it is not only about the hand position but also how you blow the air and your lips positions...I tried it last night for the first time..And Today morning I started making little sounds..And by This evening i am now making 2 different pitched sounds! It is fascinating!! Thanks to this lady for teaching me this stuff!✨

I have always wanted to do this, but no matter how many tutorials I watched, I couldn't do it. Finally, I charged my super dexterous son to learn. He did quite well. Then he taught me how to do it, he had to reposition my hands and redirect how I was blowing. So finally, at 47, a little dream of mine came true. Only now, when he gets home from school, I'll need to have him check my technique cause I can't get the sound right. My son can make the sounds you make, Jonna, and it's so cool.

It's ten o'clock at night, I was practicing this whistle and when I finally got it, it was SUPER loud that my mom came in and asked if there was an owl in the house😂

I've watched HUNDREDS of videos showing how to whistle with your hands but it never worked for me. WHY DID NO ONE EVER MENTIONED THAT YOU SHOULD BLOW ON THE JOINTS?! it's literally one of the most important thing in whistling like that! Thanks you so much for that, I was worried that I would never learn how to whistle like that at this point

I did it. It took me a few minutes to find the right size of the opening. Thank you for the tutorial.

A perfect example of the difference of getting something explained and actually doing it.😂

I only have one hand, so I'll never be able to do it. But when I was a child my dream was to make the sounds the birds from my bioma make ♡ That's amazing!

I’ve been doing this since I was a child. Someone taught me on holiday and then I learned to play tunes. I find it impresses people the first time, but annoys my family members 😂.
The larger the hollow inside your hands, the lower the note, so you can learn to go up and down by squeezing and expanding that space, all which tout creating unwanted gaps in your hands.
The only gap should be between your thumbs. That’s where the air comes out, too. If you’re struggling, remember to keep your hands somewhat soft. If you tense up, it makes it really difficult to get the right shape.

It’s fucking 12:34 AM on a school night and for the past 10 min I’ve been trying to do this.

About two weeks before you posted the tutorial I said to myself "I want to learn how to hand whistle" the universe answerd with your video. Now I can hand whistle, my husband is annoyed 😅.

Since I’ve watched your full video on this 2 weeks ago I have been attempting this nightly, and finally, as of last night, I have improved vastly. I was never captivated by the hand whistle until you’ve made those amazing sounds on the lake. With patience and practice, I hope to get close to those amazing sounds you’ve achieved. And thanks for sparking my interest, I’m sure it’ll be a part of my life.
